On the morning of 21 June 2026, during my twelve days alone in Tokyo, I went to the flea market at Oi Racecourse. I loved it. It is gigantic.

The market
The Tokyo City Flea Market takes over the car parks of Oi Racecourse, a horse racing track by the bay in Shinagawa. On busy days, there are up to 600 stalls, mostly private sellers: clothes, tableware, prints, old watches, toys, bags, and a lot of things you did not know you were looking for.

What I found
A Chloé Woody tote, a huge Prada bag, and a Vivienne Westwood necklace.

My advice
Go early, and dig. It is clearly worth it.
Practical information
When: most weekends, from 9am to 2:30pm, but many sellers start packing up around noon. The market can be cancelled in case of rain, and dates can change: check the official Instagram, @tokyocity_fleamarket, before you go.
Entry: free.
Getting there: Tokyo Monorail to Oi Keibajo-mae station, two minutes on foot. About 20 to 30 minutes from central Tokyo.
Pay: bring cash, many stalls do not take cards.
Wear: comfortable shoes. The market is huge.
